Aprendiendo Together
We know that a successful partnership between parents, caregivers, and teachers is essential in creating a supportive and loving learning environment for young children. Throughout the year, we offer opportunities for families and caregivers to participate in workshops and seminars centered around various topics in early childhood parenting, ranging from morning routines and rituals to power struggles or language learning.
It is important to us that families and caregivers feel supported in helping their children work through new feelings at home, and equipped to bolster the learning and language development taking place in the classroom. We know also that it can sometimes be challenging or overwhelming for parents to feel confident in finding ways to reinforce classroom learning at home, or to navigate new social and emotional dynamics that might arise over the course of the year. These workshops are spaces for communal learning that allows all of us at OWP to explore, to try new things, and receive feedback in a caring, thoughtful environment!
And while these challenges can often feel isolating for any particular family, we find that all of these experiences are in fact incredibly common! We see these conversations as another opportunity to connect and learn together: beyond helping families develop a set of tools and resources, this is an avenue for parents and caregivers to find community, and to build important relationships through shared experiences.
Led by experienced teachers and administrators at One World Project, our Caregiver’s Workshops ensures that families will find a supportive space to ask questions and voice concerns without judgment, as well as to take home concrete strategies that can both enhance their child’s classroom experience and help ease difficult moments at home.
Caregiver’s Workshops are free of charge, and open to all those caring for an OWP child! To check on upcoming events and workshops, please see our website.
